In the Holy Land, complete military dominance is the only path to stability.

THOMAS MARTINO

First, it is important to understand some important patterns from history before attempting to bring stability to the Holy Land. 1) Israel and Palestine see each other as an existential threat. 2) It is evident from history that the people of Palestine are not capable of self-governance. They elected Hamas into power. It was not unintentional and reflects the violent sentiments of Palestine’s popular majority. A hegemonic state(Israel, backed by the U.S.)with military superiority is the only path to stability in a region where ideology will always ignite conflict.

Given Israel’s violent past throughout history with its neighbors, the idea of the surrounding nations rebuilding Gaza poses a threat to Israel. Israel rejected the Arab Gaza reconstruction proposal, no doubt because of the aforementioned reason. Israel letting go of control is simply not an option. Israel is tired of the physical and psychological instability of an unregulated Palestine. What about the Israeli occupation of Palestine?

A two-state solution is not viable. Realistic examination shows undeniable proof that the people of Palestine are not capable of democracy and cannot be allowed self-determination, which would devolve into conflict. Palestine can never be allowed an autonomous government with any military capacity.

How is this done? Israel must be the regional hegemon of the Middle East and have a monopoly on violence in the region. With the help of the United States in facilitating an agreement, Saudi Arabia, and Israel must cooperate to act as the police force and contain Iran, who destabilizes the region. Israel and the United States would cooperate to effect a regime change in Iran. This would ensure the stability of the entire region for the foreseeable future.

Israel destroyed their homes and killed their families. The people of Palestine would oppose Israeli intervention out of a lack of trust and out of hatred for the suffering they experienced. Israeli occupation further legitimized Hamas in the eyes of the Palestinians. Non-Hamas Palestinians cheer upon witnessing violence against Israeli civilians. They will never elect a moderate leader who stands for peace.
